Is Your SUN in Scorpio?

The World of Scorpio

Scorpio Sun Symbol

The symbol of the scorpion represents Scorpio in the zodiac. The story behind this symbol is an excellent representation of the Scorpio vibe.

A tragic love story sets the stage for Scorpio’s constellation. According to Greek Mythology, Orion, son of Poseidon and Euryale, was the most handsome man alive. This trait gained him much fame with the ladies, and his colossal stature didn’t hurt either.

Orion’s most notable and ambitious pursuit was that of the huntress, Artemis. In some myths, he is accidentally hunting her, and in others, he and Artemis were hunting partners who fall in love. Regardless of how they connected, Apollo, Artemis’ brother, was jealous and angry. He devised a plan to have a giant scorpion, a creature with an instinct to strike, attack, and kill Orion. Artemis was unable to save him from the creature, but she knew how to immortalize him forever.

Depending on the myth, Artemis or Zeus placed both Orion and his tenacious attacker among the stars. The heavenly scorpion became the constellation representing a sign of penetrating intensity and quick-tempered action.

Scorpio Sun Element

Scorpio displays the element of WATER, a sign of the power that water holds to penetrate and transform even the most rigid materials. The Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) are all different, but they share a deep emotional sensitivity. Often mysterious, they are intense in their manner and have a level of psychic knowing. People born under these signs have vivid imaginations and do well with creative careers or jobs to think outside the box.

The Water signs are aware of emotions in themselves and others. As the feelings come and go, Water signs experience intense mood swings sometimes. They might display a stubborn streak but are loyal and affectionate. Their ability to feel can be used for good as an empath, or negatively as a manipulative element.

Scorpio Sun Quality

Scorpio is a FIXED sign, which works to create a stable foundation. The four fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) suggest reliability as they forge an atmosphere of patience and enthusiasm. They build a stable life. The fixed signs are trustworthy and helpful.

Being a Fixed Water sign, Scorpio creates a solid and stable existence by achieving their dreams. A Fixed Water sign is capable of imagining an exciting life.

Scorpio Sun Mantra

I lust for the hidden mysteries of life.

Scorpio Ruling Planet

PLUTO and MARS rule the sign of Scorpio. Pluto’s energy expresses transformation, subconscious information, and the underworld or afterlife. Mars is representative of decisive action and passion. Essentially pulled in two directions, Scorpio energy isn’t for the faint of heart. They are fearless of deep, mysterious emotions, while passionately driven and magnetic.

Scorpio Personality and Purpose

When your Sun is in Scorpio, you are an intense person in more ways than one. The intensity comes from every angle: your element provides penetrating emotion, your quality provides driving desire, and your symbol provides powerful instinct. All these combined put you in a position to reach depths that other signs can’t imagine.

As an extremely intuitive sign, Scorpio exudes knowledge and passion, but can often turn insecure if others don’t recognize your worth. You keep a lot inside, hiding emotions. Your defensive systems are impenetrable but can soften somewhat with those you trust most.

Scorpio power comes from the darkness of shadow, which they dominate fearlessly. You are unafraid of pushing boundaries and discovering what lies beneath. If life is not working out, you face this by tearing away the old and completely rebuilding anew. The process of transformation is second nature to Scorpio.

With a caring nature and compassionate persona, Scorpio understands people. You get that failing is a part of life. To you, failing is essential to coming out better through the process of self-discovery and metamorphosis.

Of all the signs in the zodiac, Scorpio is often considered the most sexual. However, Scorpio’s interest in sex is a means of expressing the deep love within. A Scorpio is passionate, and you become attached to your partner rather quickly. Your loyalty and absolute faithfulness draw in many partners, but it is unlikely that you will stray from your true love.

Scorpio energy motivates awareness in others to tap into their deepest desires.

Tending to become moody, stubborn, and vindictive, Scorpio learns early in life to keep many things hidden. You show the world a poised and calm exterior, regardless of the internal storm that may be brewing within. No matter the situation, Scorpio never forgets a kind word or an insulting slight.

When you were younger, your secretive nature was apparent early on. You kept a lot to yourself but were interested in everyone else’s private lives. Your personality was likely quiet or reserved, and liked your own space. A place away from everyone that could be private or secretive was best. A Scorpio child admires the strength in people and can bear pain a lot better than other children. Learning to forgive is a key lesson when young.

Your value to humanity is sometimes taken for granted. Scorpio energy helps the world see the importance of gaining power through pure love.

Scorpio Compatibility

Scorpio is most compatible with Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) and other Water signs.

Are you a cusp?

If the description of Scorpio Sun is characteristic of your personality, you may find several of your planets are aligned with this sign, element, or quality. If very little of the description represents your persona, then other signs in your chart may carry more substantial aspects. Also, if you were born on a cusp, which is when your birthday is within a few days of the Sun’s move from one zodiac sign to the next, then your Sun might not be the most accurate representation of your potential. Being on a cusp means you display the traits of two different Sun signs or a unique blend of the two.
