Is your SUN in Pisces?

The World of Pisces

The Sun is in Pisces from February 19 to March 20, depending on the year. Sun sign dates change from year to year, and the transition doesn’t always take place precisely at midnight. If you were born around the time the Sun was moving from one sign to the next, it would be helpful to double-check your Sun sign.

Pisces Sun Symbol

The symbol of the fish represents Pisces in the zodiac. The story behind this symbol is an excellent example of the Piscean vibe.

According to Greek Mythology, the monstrous god Typhon set to attack the gods’ home at Mount Olympus. Typhon was a giant and a terror. His status as an outcast could be tolerated no longer. Zeus would never take an attack lightly, especially one upon the gods and their home. He planned to evacuate the lot and stay behind with his daughter, Athena, to play the hero.

As the other gods and goddesses fled the scene, Aphrodite and Eros were unaware while moving alongside the Euphrates. Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and her son Eros, the god of love, were trapped alongside the river, unable to escape the monster. Aphrodite called upon Zeus and Athena to save them.

Zeus crafted a cunning plan and changed Aphrodite and Eros into two fish. They quickly jumped into the river and escaped the evil Typhon. Athena placed the two fish among the stars where they form the constellation of Pisces.

Pisces Sun Element

Pisces displays the element of WATER, a sign of the intuition that motivates them to trust their instincts. The Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) are all different, but they share a deep emotional sensitivity. Often mysterious, they are intense in their manner and have a level of psychic knowing. People born under these signs have vivid imaginations and do well with creative careers or jobs where they are able to think outside the box.

The Water signs are aware of emotions in themselves and others. As the feelings come and go, Water signs experience intense mood swings sometimes. They might display a stubborn streak but are loyal and affectionate. Their ability to feel can be used for good as an empath or negatively as a manipulative element.

Pisces Sun Quality

Pisces is a MUTABLE sign, considered to be changeable and adaptable. The four mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) display an agreeable attitude and flow with life’s changes. Gifted at creating harmony, they adjust their thoughts to adapt to circumstances.  Where change can be a complicated mess for other qualities, the mutable signs are as equipped as a chameleon.

Being a Mutable Water sign, Pisces uses their intuitive gifts to read the emotions of a situation and act accordingly. A Mutable Water sign might even know what harmonizing attribute is needed before the one receiving.

Pisces Ruling Planet

JUPITER and NEPTUNE rule the sign of Pisces. Jupiter represents good fortune, expansion, growth, and benevolence. Neptune is the planet of sensitivity, psychic awareness, and the dream world. The mystical soul of a Pisces benefits humanity with their sensitive aura. A Pisces can get lost in unreality, finding the world of imagination more appealing.

Pisces Personality and Purpose

When your Sun is in Pisces, you tend towards artistic pursuits such as music, literature, or film. Any path where an imaginative mind is needed would benefit a Pisces. As the most artistic sign, Pisces live in a dreamlike state, finding a suitable existence in the world of imagination. You can lose yourself in books, movies, music, art, poetry, and creative expression.

As the twelfth and final sign of the zodiac, Pisces can pull aspects of the other signs and become relatable to almost any personality by displaying the other’s characteristics. You are a mutable sign, so your ability to adapt, coupled with your naturally open-minded thinking, creates an extremely sympathetic person.

Your challenge as a Pisces is developing a clear purpose rather than getting lost in the mind. You may find yourself lacking direction, which comes from hiding natural sensitivities. Set concrete goals and achieve them creatively. Redirect some of your compassion to your plans. Release the need to envelope yourself in the emotional issues of everyone around you. Their suffering is not your fault, nor is it your sole responsibility. Hold space for their feelings, but fully recognize that you are important, too.

A Pisces can find themselves glamorizing suffering. Often feeling misunderstood, you wish other people would understand you as well as you know them. If you find someone who “gets” you, the relationship will be long-lasting.

Sometimes, a Pisces will lose themselves in substances that dampen their feelings. The harsh realities of life are to be avoided. Pisces have a difficult time dealing with reality.

Many Pisces are psychic or connected in some way to mystical pursuits. Mystical settings, incense, candlelight, old libraries,

A Pisces has dual choices in life. Symbolized by the fish swimming opposing courses, you feel like you’re being pulled in two directions.  If you choose to accept life’s challenges, you will rise, but you will sink if you give in to every emotion. Your emotions are too powerful. Finding peace and harmony within while accepting your nature will help you achieve goals.

A Pisces needs love in life. You love to be romanced and thrive on affection. Constant criticism will end a romance. You are known to stray without even realizing what you are doing. Being a loving and romantic individual, you know that affection is free. It feels good to be loved, and you are a giving person! Partners have difficulty leaving you. Breaking your heart puts the other party in a difficult position.

When you were younger, your shy ways kept you from the limelight. You were imaginative, magical, and full of wonder. You always knew what others needed and did your best to be there. The greatest gift you could receive would be acceptance. Building an emotional attachment is key.

Your value to humanity should not be taken for granted. Pisces energy connects humanity through the power of creative imagination and the sensitivity of our souls.

Pisces Compatibility

Pisces is most compatible with Leo and Virgo, plus other Water signs.

If the description of Pisces Sun is characteristic of your personality, you may find several of your planets are aligned with this sign, element, or quality. If very little of the description represents your persona, then other signs in your chart may carry more substantial aspects. Also, if you were born on a cusp, which is when your birthday is within a few days of the Sun’s move from one zodiac sign to the next, then your Sun might not be the most accurate representation of your potential. Being on a cusp means you display the traits of two different Sun signs or a unique blend of the two.
